Parking At Pasteiner's
Although Cars and Coffee Irvine is at an untouchable status when it comes to weekly car shows, the rest of the us not fortunate enough to be in California have to suffice with our own car meets. It doesn't hurt however that I'm located in the Motor City, which even with it's trouble, we still have our share of cars.
There's an awesome hobby store called Auto Zone/Pasteiner's. It's located right on Woodward, Michigan's main drag for cruising and car shows. They have a show every Saturday, rain/shine, all year. And every Saturday there's something there, even in the snow.
Albiet, the winter months draw a small crowd with mostly normal cars, people aren't afraid to bring out their cars if the weather is decent. The winter also brings out the manufactures showing off their new cars for fun.
The mix of cars is awesome too. Muscle cars, exotics, hot rods, imports. You name it, it'll show up at some point. Every Saturday there's something new to see. A lot of cars come back week after week, but it's just as much a social gathering as car show.
Like this F430 Scuderia with some aftermarket wheels.
And then this Challenger around back, with the newer version in front of it.
The variation is hard to complain about for the size of the area it's held at. A mini Cars and Coffee Irvine if you will. Maybe with a bit more emphasis on hot rods, but it is Detroit after all.
Powaaaaaaaaarrrrrr!
More power! In a different way though. The Ford GT is a funny car, at points it seems like an exotic that you never see, but then they seem to show up at once for an odd amount of time.
Porsches just look right with fog lights. This particular Porsche runs on a set of Ruf wheels, along with noticeable aero kit. A regular visitor, and a long time favorite of mine.
Cadillac, 8.2 Litre, 500 Cubic Inch, 5000lb car. America.
Another commoner, this Grand Prix Fireball Roberts edition is here just about every weekend. I can't find out rare this is, but being a Fireball Roberts editions is pretty cool.
And now a Dino! Another regular with an amazingly clean example of the Dino. It's good to see cars this clean come out every weekend for a little bit.
Finishing off with all original Corvette motor. You're never too sure on what will show up on Saturday, but if the weather is nice, chances are it'll be a nice turnout. So if you're ever in Michigan, head over to Woodward on Saturday and morning and head to Pasteiner's just above 14 Mile Rd. The show starts around 8, and most the cars head out around 11. It's worth a trip to see what'll be out!
